Shona Kelly is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Epidemiology at the University of Nottingham. She originally trained as a bench scientist, then because of her knowledge of pesticides started working in occupational and environmental epidemiology. A multitude of real world research problems on human contaminant exposures led her to complete a mid-life PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies in a piece of research that combined sociology, psychology and epidemiology. Over the past two years she has published papers with geographers, climatologists, sociologists, psychologists and epidemiologists. I am currently working on research projects with geological engineers, sociologists, psychologists and, of course, with various healthcare professions.
